This red variety of corundum has been prized for centuries and has accumulated many legends. Medieval Europeans wore them to guarantee health, wealth, wisdom and love. Burmese Warriors believed they made them invincible in battle. In India they believed ruby enabled the wearer to live in peace with their enemies. It is the most well known and sought after red gem. Metaphysically, Ruby stimulates the root chakra, bringing life force, amplifying our passions and allowing us to pursue our aspirations and desires.
